A bit surprising was the amount of boos from the home crowd that greeted him for his first shift.

Bruins' Ward Stable After Throat Injury
Bruins' defenseman Aaron Ward left Wednesday?s 2-1 victory over the Penguins early in the second period with a throat injury.
Ward was attended to by Boston?s trainer and retreated to the locker room after a collision with Pittsburgh defenseman Sergei Gonchar at 4:05 of the middle period.
After being checked over in the locker room, Ward was taken to a local hospital for further examination. He will remain under observation overnight.
Heatley Makes Successful Return
